THORIUM Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement

May 15, 2008

The Danish death cult THORIUM has parted ways with longtime guitarist Allan Tvedebrink. "Allan has been a part of THORIUM since 1998 and has contributed a lot to THORIUM during his ten years in the band," vocalist MHA said in a statement. "But due to the good old family- and work-related issues, he has decided to quit the band. We, of course, respect his decision and still remain friends."

The singer continued: "Having been in touch with the guys from DERANGED for many years, it was bitter to see this great band split, but also the perfect opportunity for THORIUM to ask guitar player Johan Axelsson to join THORIUM. Johan gladly accepted the challenge and is now the new guitar player of THORIUM. KB, our bass player, has previously played with Johan in the band KILLAMAN and suggested Johan as new guitar player for THORIUM. I was hooked on the idea, since Johan is an excellent guitar player, looks great on stage plus it definitely gives him that little extra he is Swedish."

The new lineup of THORIUM is:

MHA - Vokills
KB Larsen - Bomber
Marcel Leth - Axe
Johan Axelsson - Axe
Nikolaj Borg Battery

"Epidemic Skeleton", the new video from THORUM, can be viewed below. According to a press release, fans should be "prepared for something which is not your average metal band with bad-motherfucker attitude in an arty photo studio and no storyline."

"Epidemic Skeleton" comes off the group's "comeback" album, "Feral Creation", which came out on February 18 via Mighty Music. The CD was recorded at the Berno Studio (THE HAUNTED, VOMITORY, DERANGED) in Sweden and was mixed with Jacob Hansen (ABORTED, MERCENARY, VOLBEAT) at Hansen Studios. The cover artwork for the album was created by legendary artist Dan Seagrave (MALEVOLENT CREATION, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION). Check out an e-card for the CD at this location.
